Toanga Time

Taonga time are activities that we attended on Friday in middle block. Only the year 7 and 8’s do Taonga time. We do it for a whole term. The word Taonga means a treasure like a green stone or a charm. So we used the word Taonga time to explain the teacher’s passion, for instance Mr J likes music so were doing a music video.

So the activity’s we get to do are Kapa Haka, its a Maori cultural song or dance. There is sports, at sports we practice tackling or techniques like passing or kicking a ball at a target and there’s different activities like team building,music,art and science. My group is music with Mr J in music room Its really fun!

I like Taonga time because we get to do activities that I enjoy. If you got to do an activity what would you do?

Netball

Room 22 have been learning some netball skills like drills and stretches. We have been doing it at the junior court. While we were waiting for the instructor Emmas, we got ready by sitting down on the grass.

The first thing we did was dynamic stretches. The first stretch was high knees, that’s when you jog and make your knees go as high as you can. The second stretch was butt flicks and but flicks is kicking your butt with your own feet.our last stretch was the grape vine, that’s the hardest stretch we did. Can you imagine how hard it is?

The thing I really liked was corner ball. Corner ball is like net ball but you need to pass it to the person in the corner to get a goal.The key to win this game is to spread out. The reason why you need to spread out is because everyone mostly is in one place.

Creativity

In room 22 we have been learning about creativity. Creativity is using your head. I think creativity is turning different and imaginative ideas to life. Creative was two things needed to do,thinking, then producing. Our class had to do our name in a creative way and this is my peace of art.

my report

One of the best things I was pleased with this term was my artwork. The reason why I was pleased of my artwork was because I scored 11/12 in my rubric. I also gained excellence for my work habits, behaviour and academic progress. I feel really proud of myself!

The thing I need to improve from last term is my homework. I need to work on finishing and remembering to bring my homework in. I'm going to work my hardest to complete my homework at a high standard. What do you think I can do to make my homework better?

Overall I felt blessed except for my homework. I was proud about it because it was an improvement compered from last year. So I’m going to try my hardest to make this term a good term. What will you try to make this term a term?
